Reflections Along The Way

Being Creative

Neelima Polam / Nikhil Acharya

Join me and my dear friend Nikhil Acharya as we explore what creativity means to us. From our humble beginning at a professional encounter to a deep friendship, our journey has been filled with creative self-discovery. Nikhil, with his rich tapestry of experiences across India, the UK, and the US, shares how his parents instilled in him a love for the arts. Together, we reflect on how creativity serves as a therapeutic tool to navigate life's uncertainties and the remarkable innovations that sprout from embracing a state of being 'lost.'

Our dialogue reveals that true innovation is born from iterative collaboration, where input from others is not just valuable but essential. The pandemic reminded us of our interconnectedness, further highlighting that creativity thrives within a community where personal growth and shared experiences fuel collective success. Creativity, happiness, and self-expression are deeply intertwined, and we delve into how these elements shape our lives. Whether it's through art, storytelling, or music, creative activities offer solace and joy, acting as a refuge from life's chaos. By embracing our insignificance, as existential thinkers like Camus and Sartre suggest, we find freedom from judgment, allowing our creative endeavors to blossom.

Nikhil Acharya does Strategy at Just So, an award-winning creative studio in London. Before London, he lived in the Bay Area and Hyderabad. Pre-COVID, he rowed on the Thames to escape his demons.
